Funniest Birds and Fun Fact #1
“Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.” Langston Hughes
Parrots are devoted parents. They guard their children, teach them vital social and survival skills, and nurture their physical and cognitive development. Parrot parents monitor their kids’ use of social media; have high, yet reasonable, expectations regarding academic achievement; and always spend quality time with their little ones between 4:00 and 6:30 am.
Funniest Birds and Fun Fact #2
“A bird does not sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” Maya Angelou
Parakeets are extraordinary mimics, imitating many sounds, including human speech, whistles, and household noises. Their keen auditory memory allows them to replicate phrases with impressive clarity and accuracy, making them delightful and chatty companions. Parakeets are, however, committed to the use of clean language – no curse words – as it is a dirty, filthy habit utilized by humans with limited vocabularies and zero self-insight.
Funniest Birds and Fun Fact #3
“Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.” Henry Van Dyke
Parrots form loving relationships with one another, similar to humans. When a female and male parrot form a special bond, they tend to stay together for life, even outside of breeding seasons. They do not believe in divorce because marriage is a sacred bond to be entered unto with the utmost faith, charity, and hope.
Funniest Birds and Fun Fact #4
“In order to see birds it is necessary to become part of the silence.” Robert Lynd
Parakeets are flirty little birdies. When they get hot to trot, they perch, feed, and preen together. They even take baths together. The male bobs his head energetically and engages in self-feather-fluffing. Also, his pupils may constrict down to pinpricks which, I imagine, his chick target finds truly creepy. But, hey, that’s just me!
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all
And sweetest in the Gale is heard
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm
I’ve heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest Sea
Yet never in Extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
Emily Dickinson

Birds are beautiful and funny. I have a shrub in front of my house where birds like to congregate and sing. I was nearby doing some task and noticed whenever a pedestrian walked by the shrubs, the birds were silent…. just until the human was gone! So I ran the test with a family member and, again, when they sensed a human (danger)they were silent just for that moment! It was funny seeing them in action. Smart birds. Thanks for sharing these great quotes and funny videos.
Thank you, Rani! I enjoy watching birds at our backyard feeder. The competition is intense!
Lol eventually I will get a hummingbird feeder.
Hi Amy. These birds are hilarious!!!
Yes, they are hilarious! Now I want to adopt a parrot, but Peekaboo wouldn’t put up with it! Thanks for reading.
